We want you to know, in plain words, what happens to your information when you visit our website. In short: our website sets no cookies, uses no statistics or advertising tools, and loads no Google services. The only personal data we receive is what you choose to send us through our forms.
The data controller is SAS Camping L'Étoile d'Or, Route de Taxo à la Mer, 66700 Argelès-sur-Mer, France — email: info@camping-etoiledor.com — phone: +33 4 68 81 04 34.
The website has two forms: Contact (Contact page) and Groups & Events (request for a group proposal).
Required fields are marked in the forms. Please do not enter any sensitive information (health, etc.) that is not needed for your request.
Only to answer your request and, if you wish, to prepare your stay or event. We do not sign you up to any newsletter.
Pre-contractual steps taken at your request (quote, stay or event request); for a simple question, our legitimate interest in answering you.
The campsite team, in our mailbox info@camping-etoiledor.com (hosted by OVH, in France). The message is delivered there directly by our web host, without any outside service (see below).
3 years from our last exchange with you, then deleted. If your request leads to a booking, the data relating to your stay is kept for as long as needed for the contract and for accounting obligations.
Messages sent through our forms are passed on by a program installed on our website, at our web host OVH, directly to our mailbox, which is also hosted by OVH in France. No outside service is involved and your data does not leave the European Union. To fight automated submissions (spam), the form contains invisible fields and rejects submissions that are too fast or too frequent from the same connection; your IP address is not added to your message.
Booking. The “Book” buttons and our stay search bar take you to the Secure Holiday booking website, published by Ctoutvert (SAS, 10 place Alfonse Jourdain, 31000 Toulouse, France). Our search bar only prepares the address of the results page (dates, number of people, children’s ages, type of accommodation): nothing is sent until you click “Search”. Information you then enter on Secure Holiday (booking, payment, etc.) is processed there in accordance with Ctoutvert’s privacy policy.
Customer reviews. The reviews shown on our website are copied by hand from Secure Holiday: only the first name, surname initial, date, rating and text published by their authors are shown. The “See all our reviews” link opens the reviews page on Secure Holiday. No review service is loaded on our pages.
To display some pages, your browser contacts a few outside services. As with any website visit, they technically receive your IP address and information about your browser (type, language, referring page). None of them sets cookies.
The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and hosted in France by OVH. Access to our mailbox is restricted to the campsite team.
Our website sets no cookies: no audience measurement cookies, no advertising cookies and no social media cookies. That is why no consent banner is shown.
The home page only stores two small pieces of technical information in your browser, with no personal data, so that it works properly:
This information stays on your device: we have no access to it. You can delete it at any time in your browser settings (site data / storage). Under the rules of the CNIL (the French data protection authority), this kind of storage, which is strictly necessary for the service, does not require consent.
The websites we link to (Secure Holiday, Facebook, YouTube, etc.) may set their own cookies when you visit them; they manage them according to their own rules.
At any time, regarding the data that concerns you, you can:
How? Write to us at info@camping-etoiledor.com or by post to SAS Camping L'Étoile d'Or, Route de Taxo à la Mer, 66700 Argelès-sur-Mer, France. We will reply within one month (which may be extended by two months for a complex request; we will let you know if so). We will only ask for proof of identity if we have reasonable doubts about your identity.
Complaints. If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, the French data protection authority), 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France — www.cnil.fr.
Our forms are intended for adults organising a stay. If you are under 15, ask one of your parents to write to us for you. If information about you was sent to us while you were a minor, you can ask for it to be erased at any time, and we will delete it as soon as possible (Article 17 of the GDPR and Article 51 of the French Data Protection Act).
We may update this policy, for example if we change service provider. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this policy.
