To benefit from our services, please read the following terms and conditions carefully. These conditions govern the sale of stays and apply at the time the booking is made. Making a booking implies full acceptance of our terms and conditions.
A booking only becomes effective once camping L'Étoile d'Or has accepted it, after receipt of the deposit and the duly completed and signed booking contract (or after acceptance of the terms and conditions when booking online). The campsite is free to accept or refuse a booking, depending on availability and any circumstance likely to prevent it from being carried out.
Camping L'Étoile d'Or offers family-oriented stays and reserves the right to refuse any booking contrary to this principle. Bookings are personal: subletting or transfer without prior agreement is not permitted. Minors must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians. Pitch or rental numbers are not guaranteed and may be changed by the management if necessary.
The basic package includes the pitch for a tent, caravan or motorhome for 1 or 2 people, electricity, 1 vehicle, and access to the toilet blocks and reception facilities. Pitches can accommodate a maximum of 6 people, whatever their age.
Rental accommodation is fully equipped. The basic package is for 4 to 8 people depending on the type of rental, with 1 vehicle. The campsite may refuse access to families whose number exceeds the capacity rented. Additional tents are not allowed. Rentals are non-smoking. Pets are not accepted in rental accommodation.
Any booking of more than 3 units by the same person, or by people who know each other and are travelling together on the same dates, is considered a group. The offers on the website and in the brochure are for individual customers only — for a group, please contact the campsite by email or phone before making any booking request.
The prices shown are subject to change; the campsite reserves the right to change them at any time. Stays are invoiced on the basis of the prices in force on the day of booking, subject to availability — we recommend checking the applicable price directly with the campsite.
The tourist tax is €0.86 per day per person for everyone aged 18 and over.
For bookings made more than 30 days before the stay: a deposit of 30% of the total amount is due on booking, with the balance payable no later than 30 days before arrival. For bookings made less than 30 days before the stay: full payment is required at the time of booking. If the balance is not paid on time, the campsite may cancel the booking and keep the deposit paid. Chèques-Vacances must be in the name of a person listed on the contract.
Arrival
Arrival days vary according to the period (see prices). Pitches and rental accommodation are available from 4pm (from 4pm to 8pm in July and August; outside the high season, please contact us). Departure before 10am. 48 hours before arrival, you must have downloaded the Cool'n Camp app and left a €350 deposit via our partner Swikly (card pre-authorisation, with nothing debited and no impact on your spending limit — Swikly acts as a trusted third party in the event of a dispute at the end of your stay). An inventory sheet, to be checked within 24 hours, will be provided via the app (or on paper if the app is unavailable). Any claim made after this period will not be considered. Only the people registered at the time of booking may stay at the establishment.
During your stay
Campers are responsible for their own insurance: the campsite accepts no liability for theft, fire, bad weather or any incident falling under the camper's civil liability. Each guest is responsible for any disturbance caused by the people staying with them or visiting them.
Departure
Pitches and rental accommodation must be vacated before 10am. An inspection is carried out: if the accommodation is returned clean and undamaged, the deposit is released; otherwise it may be retained (and additional compensation requested if the costs exceed its amount). A cleaning charge applies if the accommodation has not been cleaned. Any late departure may be charged as an extra night.
Pets (dogs and cats) are accepted on camping pitches and for mobile home owners. Category 1 dogs (French classification of dangerous dogs) are not allowed; category 2 dogs are allowed if muzzled. They must be kept on a lead at all times and are not allowed near the pools, in food shops or inside buildings. An up-to-date vaccination record is required. Pets are not accepted in rental accommodation.
Outside visitors are admitted subject to the management's approval. They must park in the "visitors" car park and report to reception on arrival. They do not have access to the pools, sports grounds, fitness room or toilet blocks.
1 vehicle allowed per pitch or rental. Any additional vehicle must be parked in the outside car park, which is not supervised.
The rules displayed at the entrance must be strictly observed. Unaccompanied children are not admitted. For hygiene and safety reasons, swim shorts, T-shirts, wetsuits and burkinis are not allowed — only a swimsuit or swim boxers for men, and a traditional one- or two-piece swimsuit for women.
Any malicious, insulting or aggressive behaviour, and any act of discrimination, blackmail or harassment towards other guests or staff, is strictly forbidden. Security cameras are installed on the premises.
Each person receives a wristband at reception on arrival. It must be worn visibly on the wrist throughout the stay and gives free access to the facilities.
Charcoal barbecues are strictly forbidden. Only gas or electric barbecues and planchas are allowed.
In the event of a dispute, the court of Perpignan has jurisdiction. Any complaint regarding non-compliant services must be reported in writing (by recorded delivery) within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with the campsite's reply, you may, one month after your written complaint, refer the matter to the mediation centre Bayonne Médiation (32 rue du Hameau, 64200 Biarritz — +33 6 79 59 83 38), via www.bayonne-mediation.com.

In accordance with Article L121-19 of the French Consumer Code, the sale of accommodation services provided on a specific date is not subject to the 14-day withdrawal period.
Changing your booking
Possible free of charge, subject to availability. Without written notice of a delayed arrival, the accommodation becomes available for sale again 24 hours after the arrival date stated in the contract, and the booking is lost.
Unused services
No refund is given for any stay not used, interrupted or shortened for reasons of your own (late arrival, early departure).
Cancellation by the campsite
The amounts paid are refunded, except in cases of force majeure — without payment of damages.
Cancellation by the camper
Without cancellation insurance, the campsite keeps the amounts paid if the customer interrupts or cancels the stay.
Refunds possible up to the day of your arrival. The campsite offers a cancellation and curtailment guarantee: €5 per night for rentals, €3 per night for pitches.
If you cancel, notify the campsite as soon as the event occurs, by post or email, and send all supporting documents by email within 48 hours to info@camping-etoiledor.com.
The guarantee entitles you to a refund (less the cost of the guarantee and the administration fee) or a credit note valid for 2 years, on official proof, for: serious illness, serious accident or death of a close relative; pregnancy complications before the 7th month; major material damage requiring your presence; redundancy; a change to your leave by your employer; accident or theft of the vehicle on the way to the campsite; Covid-19 infection, confirmed contact case or quarantine; requisition as part of the fight against Covid-19.
Only a credit note (valid for 2 years) is issued for: border closures, a public health emergency, general quarantine or lockdown, administrative closure of the establishment.
These lists are exhaustive — any other reason (personal reasons, separation, divorce…) is not covered.
